Kristin Gallegos is a makeup artist who works between Los Angeles and New York City. She was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She has been interested in fashion from a very young age. After studying classical ballet for eight years she decided to switch creative gears to pursue her love of beauty and fashion. Kristin began her career by obtaining her esthetician license in an effort to develop a relationship with skincare. The inextricable link between perfect makeup and perfect skin is key to Kristin’s philosophy.

In 2004, Kristin moved to New York City where she began assisting and working with many top artists including Dick Page and Lisa Butler. This training provided her with the foundation needed to become a great makeup artist and allowed her to refine her own aesthetic. After a few years of training, Kristin ventured out to pursue a freelance career of her own. Her sophisticated yet progressive style has led her to work with legendary photographers at the forefront of the fashion industry such as Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, Arthur Elgort, Norman Jean Roy, David Bailey, Collier Schorr, Yelena Yemchuk, among many others. Her editorial work has appeared in magazines including W, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, i-D, Dazed & Confused, Allure, Vogue, Interview, Purple and V Magazine. She has also done campaigns for brands such as Rolex, Opening Ceremony, Uniqlo, Urban Outfitters, and Bergdorf Goodman. And has keyed runway shows for designers including Naeem Khan and Katie Gallagher. She has also worked with numerous celebrities over the years including Alexa Chung, Chloe Sevigny, Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Moss, Julia Garner, and Lupita Nyong’o.
